Quick Answer: The FASTag Annual Pass costs ₹3,075 for FY 2026–27. It lets a private car, jeep or van cross National Highway and National Expressway fee plazas for one year or 200 crossings, whichever comes first. You buy it once on NHAI's Rajmargyatra app or website, and it activates on your existing FASTag within about two hours.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) raised the fee from ₹3,000 on 1 April 2026, so any guide still quoting ₹3,000 is out of date. The pass is also locked to one vehicle and counts only on National Highways and National Expressways, so check both before you pay.

What is the FASTag Annual Pass and what does it cost in 2026?
The FASTag Annual Pass is a one-time toll payment of ₹3,075 that covers 200 fee plaza crossings or one year on National Highways and National Expressways. It sits on top of the FASTag you already have, so a covered toll counts as a trip instead of taking money from your wallet.
It came in on 15 August 2025 through an amendment to the National Highways Fee Rules, 2008. NHAI revised the fee to ₹3,075 for FY 2026–27, effective 1 April 2026. If you've seen the "FASTag annual pass 3000" figure online, that was the launch-year price.
| Period | Annual Pass fee | Cost per crossing if you use all 200 |
|---|---|---|
| 15 August 2025 to 31 March 2026 (FY 2025–26) | ₹3,000 | ₹15 |
| From 1 April 2026 (FY 2026–27) | ₹3,075 | about ₹15.40 |
How a trip is counted depends on the plaza. At a point-based plaza, each crossing is one trip, so a round trip uses two. On a closed tolling stretch, one entry and one exit together count as a single trip.
NHAI counted over 56 lakh users by March 2026, and passes issued crossed one crore by 28 September 2026.
How do you buy the FASTag Annual Pass online on Rajmargyatra?
You buy the FASTag Annual Pass online only on NHAI's Rajmargyatra app or the NHAI website. You pay ₹3,075 once, and the pass is activated on the FASTag already stuck on your windscreen.
Here's how to buy the FASTag annual pass, step by step:
- Open the Rajmargyatra app (or the NHAI website) and choose the Annual Pass option.
- Enter your vehicle registration number and contact details, then complete the OTP verification.
- Wait while the system checks that your vehicle is a private car, jeep or van and that its FASTag is eligible.
- Pay the one-time fee of ₹3,075 online.
- Allow up to two hours for the pass to go live on your existing tag.
Two hours is the normal FASTag annual pass activation time in NHAI's Annual Pass FAQ, so don't hit a toll the minute you pay. SMS alerts then go to the mobile number registered with your tag. If your tag's KYC details are out of date, update your FASTag KYC online before you try to buy.
You can also gift an annual FASTag pass. The app's "Add Pass" option takes the other vehicle's number and the owner's contact details, and the pass activates after OTP verification.

Which toll plazas does the Annual Pass cover?
The pass covers only National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) fee plazas, about 1,150 of them across India. At plazas on state highways and expressways run by state governments or local bodies, and at parking lots, your FASTag works as a normal tag and pays from its wallet.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has told Parliament that the pass does not currently apply to State Highways and Expressways. A state may bring in its own pass, with the Centre's technical support.
So if you're hunting for a FASTag annual pass toll list, the rule is simpler than a list: NH and NE plazas count, state-run roads don't. Maharashtra's Samruddhi Mahamarg is a state expressway, where the state government sets the toll, so expect normal wallet deductions there. If you're unsure, check the Annual Pass signboard NHAI has asked its plazas to display.
What happens after 200 trips or one year?
The pass switches back to a regular FASTag automatically, whichever limit you hit first. From then on, tolls come out of your wallet balance again at the normal rate.
To get another 200 trips or one year, you re-activate the pass on Rajmargyatra and pay the fee again. So what people call a "FASTag annual pass recharge" is really a fresh activation at the current fee.
Keep some wallet balance anyway, since state highways and parking still deduct from it. You can check your FASTag balance online before a long drive.
Can you move the Annual Pass to another vehicle?
No. The pass is non-transferable and works only on the vehicle whose FASTag it was activated on. Using it on another vehicle leads to deactivation.
So a new car needs its own FASTag and its own Annual Pass. Trips left on the old pass stay with the old vehicle's tag.
Annual Pass or Monthly Pass: which should you pick?
Pick the Annual Pass if you drive between cities and cross many NH or NE plazas in a year. Pick the local monthly pass if you cross one nearby plaza almost every day and live within about 20 km of it. Our guide to the FASTag monthly pass price and eligibility explains that pass.
Whichever pass you choose, the tag underneath must be in order. Jaagruk Bharat can also get your FASTag KYV done online.
