What can you change in an e-Shram card update yourself?
You can edit your address, bank details, occupation, skills, education, income, contact details and nominee yourself. Your name, date of birth, gender and photo can't be typed in, because e-Shram reads them from Aadhaar.

The e-Shram FAQs confirm workers can self-update mobile number, current address, occupation, education and skills on the portal or at a CSC. The Ministry's homepage also asks registrants to keep their occupation current.

How do you update your e-Shram profile online?
Log in under Already Registered, verify with an OTP, and edit each section from the Update Profile menu. The eShram update takes a few minutes and needs no documents to upload.
- Open the e-Shram portal homepage and click Already Registered? LOGIN.
- Choose Login Using UAN, or log in using Aadhaar if you've forgotten your UAN.
- Enter the number, fill the captcha and type the OTP sent to your mobile.
- Click Update Profile. The menu shows Personal Information, Address, Education and Income, Occupation and Skills, and Bank Details.
- Open the section you want, change the details and press Save or Update.
- Open the Preview and Self Declaration page, check everything and confirm.
- Download your UAN card again so the printout matches.

How do you correct your name, date of birth or gender?
Correct it in Aadhaar first, then run Aadhaar re-eKYC on e-Shram. There's no name, date of birth or gender box on the e-Shram edit screens, so an e-Shram card name change or date of birth correction online only happens this way.
Update Aadhaar at an enrolment centre through the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Once Aadhaar shows the new details, log in to e-Shram using Aadhaar and press Update e-Kyc Information. The re-eKYC screen shows your name, photo, date of birth and gender as per Aadhaar. Already registered? Update your card instead of registering again
If e-Shram says your Aadhaar is already registered, you don't need a new registration. Registration for unorganised workers happens once per Aadhaar, so log in under Already Registered and update your profile.
The portal's own message reads "This Aadhaar is already registered on eShram portal. To update profile or download UAN card…". It means a UAN already exists for you, perhaps from an earlier registration at a CSC.
First-time registration is free on eshram.gov.in for workers aged 16 or above who aren't income tax payers or EPFO or ESIC members, as the e-Shram card registration and benefits guide explains. You need only your Aadhaar number and Aadhaar-linked mobile. How do you change the bank account linked to e-Shram?
For an e-Shram card update to your bank account, log in, open Update Profile, choose Bank Details, and enter the new account number, IFSC and account holder name. Save it, then check the preview before you log out.
Use an account in your own name that's active. The FAQs say e-Shram is meant to help deliver social security benefits from the Central and State Governments, so a closed or wrong account can block a future payment. Type the IFSC exactly as it appears on your passbook or cheque.
How do you check the update went through?
Log in again after your e-Shram card update and open your profile or the Preview page. The saved details should show there, and a freshly downloaded UAN card will carry them.
