Beware of Look-Alike Challan Sites and Apps

This is the portal's own warning, at the top of its home page. MoRTH tells residents to beware of fraudulent websites and apps impersonating its eChallan services and to reach the portal only through the official website or app. It never asks for a password, OTP or payment details by call, email, message or link. Report anything suspicious to the police.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Not downloading the receipt. The portal has a dedicated download-payment-receipt service. A bank debit message is not proof that the challan was closed.
Paying twice after a failed payment. Check the pending transaction first; a stuck payment often reconciles on its own.

Assuming a second-hand vehicle is clean. Challans attach to the vehicle, so check before and after a transfer.
