Quick Answer: Check a Karnataka e-challan by vehicle number on the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) portal or Karnataka One, and pay it online there. Both are Government of Karnataka sites, and UPI works on Karnataka One. Rebates on old fines apply only when the state notifies them; the last 50% window closed on 10 July 2026.
Most Bangalore traffic fine notices today come from cameras, not from a constable stopping you, and every camera challan carries photo proof. BTP checks each camera violation, pulls your vehicle details from the Vahan database, then sends the challan by SMS and a printed notice by post.

How do you check a pending Karnataka challan by vehicle number online?
To check a pending traffic challan by vehicle number online, open your state traffic police's official e-challan page, enter the vehicle number and view the list. For a Bangalore traffic fine check, that's the Bengaluru Traffic Police payment page or the "Know Your Traffic Violation Details" option on Karnataka One.
- Open the BTP e-challan system page and tap "Pay Traffic Fine" in the menu.
- Verify your mobile number with the one-time password (OTP) sent to it.
- Look up your vehicle registration number to see every pending challan.
- Open each challan to see the offence, the date and the fine before you pay.
You'll land on a Karnataka State Police (KSP) page, and that's expected. The BTP traffic fine system runs on it. Already holding the printed notice? Scan its QR code instead to see the photo evidence straight away.

How do you pay a Karnataka e-challan online?
To check and pay a vehicle e-challan online, look it up by vehicle number on a government portal, select the pending challans and pay. A Bangalore traffic challan can be paid this way on the BTP payment page, the KSP app, BTP's ASTraM app, or Karnataka One.
Paying a Karnataka One traffic fine takes four steps:
- Go to Karnataka One, the state's citizen-services portal.
- Choose "Know Your Traffic Violation Details" and pick your city's traffic police.
- Select the challans you want to clear and check each amount.
- Pay by UPI or another listed mode, then download the receipt.
Save that receipt until the challan shows as paid. Karnataka One also covers Mysuru, Mangaluru and Davangere traffic police, so a Karnataka police traffic fine from outside Bengaluru is often payable there too. To see what each offence costs, check our traffic challan fines list for India.

- We share the receipt and follow up if a challan still shows unpaid.
Is there a discount on Karnataka traffic fines right now?
No discount is notified as of 28 September 2026. The most recent one, a 50% rebate on pending fines, ran from 21 June to 10 July 2026 for Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Belagavi and Hubballi-Dharwad, as Karnataka One announced.
Each rebate is a one-off government order with fixed dates and a fixed list of cities. It isn't a standing scheme, and nothing entitles you to one later. When a new window opens, BTP and Karnataka One carry the notice on their own sites, and that's the only place to trust it.
A forwarded message promising "50% off" isn't a notice. Check the date on the official portal before you pay anything, and never pay a discounted amount through a link sent to you.
How do you complain about a wrong Bengaluru challan?
File it on the BTP complaint page and choose "About traffic fines" as the complaint type. Then pick the problem that matches your challan.
| Problem on the form | When to choose it |
|---|---|
| Wrong Vehicle Number | The plate in the photo isn't yours |
| Wrong Offence captured | The offence listed didn't happen |
| Problem with the proof of offence | The photo is unclear or doesn't show the violation |
| Number is mine but not vehicle | The plate matches, but the vehicle is a different one |
Add your registration number, name, mobile number and email, explain what's wrong, and submit. Look at the photo evidence first, through the QR code on the notice or the challan details. It usually settles whether you have a case.
What happens if a Karnataka challan stays unpaid?
An unpaid Karnataka e-challan stays pending against your vehicle number, and BTP keeps the record. It can also be sent to court, where a judge fixes the amount you must pay.
Karnataka's traffic department is listed on the eCourts Virtual Courts portal, so a challan sent there is settled with the court rather than on the BTP page. Some offences never go to an online payment at all. BTP says drink-driving fines are imposed only by a court, and missing that court date can lead to a warrant.
Repeat offences also cost more on BTP's published fine list. Using a mobile phone while driving a car is ₹3,000 the first time and ₹10,000 after that. Clearing a challan early keeps it off the court track and stops a second offence from costing more.
