The ‘Training in Coir’ Component of the Development of Coir Scheme is launched by the Department of Industries and Commerce under the Union Territory of Puducherry. The Sarkari Yojana has a two-fold objective. i.e., to promote coir and coir-based industries and provide skill-building training to people engaged in making coir-based products or those who would like to enter the industry.
The initiative was designed by the authorities to help people train in the various aspects of coir production, such as coir rope, mats, etc. The specific ‘Training in Coir’ component is especially for the low-income people from rural areas working in the coir industries, so that those in need can be helped and the quality of their standard of living can be raised. The training is usually for a period of six months, wherein trainees learn various coir-related skills, including workplace practices.
There are several objectives of this state govt scheme that make it unique and beneficial. Some of the key objectives of the government coir training program are laid down below:
The primary objective of the Puducherry Sarkari Yojana is to provide tailored training to people engaged in the coir industry in skills, like coir fibre extraction, spinning, weaving, etc. Proper training will create a trained workforce that will have a direct positive impact on the growth and development of the coir industry.
The training under this scheme is strictly provided to the rural poor so that they can learn new, upgraded, and modern skills, which not only save their time and extra effort but will also help them earn more while working in the traditional coir-based product sector.
Through this government coir training program, authorities also aim to inspire and encourage people to start their own small business ventures or units using coir as the primary raw material. The training would make people self-sufficient in starting their businesses.
There are numerous key benefits of the development of Coir Scheme training, some of which are described below in detailed points:
The key and the most popular benefit of the state government scheme is that it provides special vocational training to people engaged in making coir-based products or those who would like to enter the industry. It is usually for a period of 6 months.
