Big News, Puducherry Sainik Welfare Announces Grant To Meritorious Wards Of ESM In Sports

The Indian Army is known for promoting the welfare of its ex-servicemen and providing benefits to their families. The Army also promotes sports and physical fitness above anything else. In furtherance of this, the Department of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry announced a rewarding scheme for the wards of its ex-servicemen (ESM). Let us find the details!

What Is The New Govt Scheme For Wards Of ESM?

The Sainik welfare department of Puducherry has decided to provide grants to children of ex-servicemen for their achievements in sports at national and international levels. The announcement was made by the department on Armed Forces Flag Day as a token of incentive and appreciation.

Monetary benefits will be provided to the achievers as per their achievements. The application to receive the grant has to be made in an offline mode to the office within 3 months of such achievement.

What Are The Benefits Of Grant For Wards Of ESM?

Three types of benefits are being given to wards of ex-servicemen under this new govt scheme. The details are given below:

Grant of ₹50,000/- for achievements in sports at the international level.
Grant of ₹30,000/- for achievements in sports at the national level.

The amount is transferred into the account of the beneficiary through RTGS/NEFT.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria To Apply For This Government Scheme?

The eligibility criteria to avail of the benefits of this govt scheme is specific and must be complied with. It is given below:

The applicant should be a Ward of an ESM / Ward of the Widow of an Ex-Serviceman (ESM).
The ESM / Ward of the Widow of an ESM should be registered with the Department of Sainik Welfare, Puducherry.
The event should be organised by a body approved/recognised by the Government.
The applicant should have achieved merit in a sport at the national/international level.

What Is The Procedure To Apply For This Govt Scheme?

The application for this govt scheme can only be made in the offline mode.

Fill it out and submit it to the Rajya Sainik Board, Jawan Bhawan, Department of Sainik Welfare, Government of Puducherry, 261, Lawspet Main Road, Pakkamudianpet, Puducherry Road, Lawspet, Puducherry - 605013, India.
After verification, the amount will be credited to your bank account.
