What Is the Regional Centre For Training and Production of Mushrooms?

  • Farmers can buy Button and Oyster spawns and compost at a 50% subsidy from the Mushroom Development Centre.

  • They can get 50% assistance to build a compost shed under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Horticulture at the Mushroom Development Centre in Upper Shillong.

  • Farmers in West Garo Hills can receive financial help of ₹22,000 per unit with 50% assistance from the District Horticulture Officer.

Eligibility Criteria

The following eligibility criteria have to be met by mushroom farmers who want to apply for the government scheme.

  • The farmer must be a permanent resident of Meghalaya.

  • Should be a genuine farmer involved in agriculture.

  • Must own or lease land that is at least 0.2 hectares or more.

Application Process

Applying for mushroom farming training is a simple process for eligible farmers. It involves preparing an application and submitting it with the required documents. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 4: Submit the signed application and documents to the nearest Horticulture Development Officer's office in a CD Block or Horticulture Circle.
