Using fertilisers helps crop yields but if it’s being overused then it will start affecting the quality of the crop as well as the soil. The soil will lose all the minerals and will just be dry soil. Chemical fertilisers are also very expensive to buy and act as a burden to farmers. Because of all these reasons, farmers are going back to using cow dung as a natural fertiliser to save money as well as their crops.
Rajasthan has also started promoting its farmers to use natural fertilisers and they are doing so with the help of zero-budget farming.

Zero Budget Natural Farming is a way of farming where farmers use natural things like cow urine and cow dung from local cows. They don't buy chemical fertilisers or pesticides from the market. Instead, they make everything they need right on their farm.
This way, they don't have to spend money. Farmers use special mixtures like Beejamrit for seeds and Dravjeevamrit for plants. They also use natural sprays like Neemastra to keep insects away.
The main goal of 0-budget farming is to help the environment and make farming cheaper. It helps the soil stay healthy and produces better crops without chemicals. Zero-budget agriculture also helps farmers use less water and earn more money. It encourages them to work together in groups to grow and sell their produce. This way, farmers can directly connect with bigger markets and sell their products more easily.
