Union Budget 2025 Benefiting The State Of Bihar

It is the responsibility of every nation’s government to continuously and consistently work on introducing changes and updates in the existing framework to keep up with the time. This is done for the growth and development of the people and the nation as a whole.

Recently, the Finance Minister of India, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Union Budget of 2025 and explained every change, update, and new addition in the budget. Some of those major updates are for the state of Bihar specifically concerning the production and processing of fox nut (Makhana), Greenfield airports, National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship, & Management, expansion of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, and support for Western Kosi Canal.

1. Makhana Board In Bihar

Smt Nirmala Sitharaman officially announced the establishment of a proper Makhana Board in the state of Bihar. Bihar has always been ahead in the race of fox nut production and is responsible for around 80% of India’s fox nut production. The Makhana Board would help farmers not only by increasing the Makhana production but also by improving the quality of Makhana.

2. Greenfield Airports

Budget 2025 also comprises plans to establish four Greenfield Airports in the state of Bihar in addition to the present airport in the city of Patna. This would increase the convenience of travelling from in and out of the state.

3. National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship, & Management

The Finance Minister also announced the establishment of the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship, & Management in the state. This would help interested students in pursuing careers in the domain of food technology.

4. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Patna

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in the city of Patna will also be expanded by working on the infrastructure and the hostel facilities so that more students can be accommodated by the institute. IIT Patna has already been declared as an Institute of National Importance (INI) and this expansion would help not only the students but the whole institute’s growth and its global ranking as well.

5. Western Kosi Canal

The Budget 2025 also made provisions to provide support for the Western Kosi Canal to benefit the Mithilanchal region of the state with 50,000 hectares.
