Karnataka Budget 2025

Karnataka is one of the most magnificent states of India. The past year has proven to be great for the state and its residents. The state’s GDP has increased by 7.4% along with a rise in the growth of the agriculture sector by 4%. It is worth mentioning that the state has preceded the national growth which was at 6.2%.

One of the most awaited announcements that the residents of Karnataka were waiting for is here. i.e. the budget announcement. The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah announced the details of the state’s budget for the year 2025. The total amount of this year’s budget has been increased from 3.71 lakh crore to 4 lakh crore.

1. Extended Metro Network

The metro network will be extended to the Kempegowda International Airport as the state govt is planning on connecting the Hebbal Esteem Mall to the Silk Board Junction through an 18.5 km long North-South tunnel. A fund of around 15,000 crore has been allocated for the same.

2. Double-Decker Flyover Project

The CM announced that a 40.5 km long double-decker flyover will be constructed with funds worth around 8 crore rupees along with the Namma Metro Phase - 3.

3. Scholarships For Students From SC Community

The state’s budget 2025 also has a scholarship provision for students from the SC community to pursue their graduate/postgraduate courses from 100 prestigious national educational institutions. The scholarship would allow the students to build upon their professional careers.

4. Programmes For Children & Women

The state govt of Karnataka has specially allocated funds worth 62 crores, especially for programmes for children and 94 crores for programmes for women.

5. Increased Salaries Of Anganwadi Workers

The budget also has a component for Anganwadi workers as per which their monthly salaries would be increased by Rs. 750 to Rs. 1000. This represents the state’s commitment to being fair to one of the most important workers. i.e. Anganwadi workers.

6. New Public Schools

The state will be establishing 500 new public schoolswith the help of the Philippines-based Asian Development Bank. The fund allocated for the same costs around Rs. 2500 crores.

7. Increased MSP

The Minimum Support Price (MSP) has been increased by an additional 450 Rupees for the farmers growing toor dal in the districts of Kalaburagi, Bidar, Yadagiri, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Raichur, Koppal, Kolar, Chitradurga and Chikkaballapur.

8. Loans To Farmers

The state govt has announced to keep a separate fund worth Rs. 28,000 crore to provide loans to around 37 lakh farmers of the state.

9. Revisions In The Anna Bhagya Scheme

There has been a change introduced in the Anna Bhagya Scheme. As per this year’s budget, instead of the usual 5 kg of rice, financial assistance will be provided to the beneficiaries of the scheme.

10. New Industrial Policy

The state’s budget 2025 is also comprised of a New Industrial Policy 2025-30 which is expected to boost the industrial sector by 12% and generate around 20 lakh employment opportunities by the year 2030.

11. Assistance For Fish Vendors From The SC/ST Community

All the fish vendors who belong to the SC/ST community and reside in the state would now be entitled to 50% or 3 lakh Rupees to purchase a four-wheeler vehicle.

12. CM’s Infrastructure Development Programme (CMIDP)

The state govt has launched a new scheme called the Chief Minister’s Infrastructure Development Programme (CMIDP). The scheme aims to improve the infrastructural facilities of the state like irrigation, condition of roads in rural and urban areas, etc. with a budget of around 8000 crore.

13. Maternal Deaths

One of the most precious fund allocations has been made by the state govt to prevent and reduce the number of maternal deaths. A fund of around 320 crores has been allocated for the same.

14. Comprehensive Health Programme

The state govt of Karnataka has launched a new govt programme called the Comprehensive Health Programme under the Brand Bengaluru Plan. It will begin working for the next three years with a budget of around 413 crore.

15. Airport Projects

The state’s budget for 2025 also has a plan to build the Vijayapura Airport. The state govt has other airport-related projects as well such as the acquisition of land for Karwar Naval Airport and expansion of runway at Mysuru Airport.
