Tejaswini – The Radiant is a sarkari scheme that has been brought by the government of J&K for young women who want to be self-employed and to promote Women's Empowerment. This yojana empowers females to start up additional income-generating ventures or expand existing ones, hence establishing economic security.
Tejaswini provides financial aid and skill development training to empower young women, aiming to boost their economic independence and employment opportunities. Below are the major benefits of this scheme:-
Loan Assistance: Microcredit up to ₹ 5 lakhs: the interest rate is zero per cent.
Subsidy: ₹50,000 or 10% of the project cost, whichever is lower, and an interest subsidy of up to ₹ 60,000 for exemption.
Support in Business: Assists women in buying fixed assets, machinery and equipment as well as meeting their current needs.
The scheme aims to push young women into income-generating activities by being able to access affordable finance for both start-ups and expansion of income-generating activities in areas of their choice.

The government scheme extends an interest subvention up to ₹5 lakh emulous hand in tandem with a Mudra from J&K bank, which has an interest-free loan. Under Mission Youth, the financial assistance provided is ₹50,000 or 10 % of the project cost and the interest subsidy up to ₹60,000 on the success of the project.
Before you think of applying for the scheme, it is advised to check the eligibility criteria first. To be a valid candidate of the scheme, you need to clear the following parameters:-
Young Women aged between 18 and 35 years who are permanent residents of the union territory of J&K enrolled with Mission Youth.
Should have an education level of at least 10th grade (the CEO may provide an exception).
Should not be a loan defaulter should be jobless and should be a member of the District Employment &Counselling Centre.
Women who have access to similar government benefits or fall outside the specified age or economic criteria are not eligible. Such As:-

Incentive, subsidised business units refer to the existing business units that have enjoyed incentives or subsidies from various government business schemes.
Government and private sector employees who apply for scholarship programmes.
Applicants can apply online through the official Tejaswini portal or visit designated centres for assistance with the application. Here is a step-by-step guide to apply for this scheme:-
Step 1: Check out the Mission Youth Portal.
Step 2: Click on the link Tejaswini - The Radiant and then press the ‘Apply Now’ button.
Step 3: Fill in the necessary documents.
Step 4: The applications are considered at the district level, and the applicants are selected on the scale of the district quota.
Step 5: The approved loan is disbursed within 15 days after receiving the approval from the District Lead Bank Officer.
