Punjab Sports Council To Provide Lifetime Stipends For Athletes

The Punjab State Sports Council started a program Scheme of pension for eminent sports persons (Punjab) to give money each month to veteran athletes. These athletes did great things for India when they were young at big international competitions.

This program is important for the Punjab State Sports Council for sports. It shows talented athletes that if they become champions at big international competitions, the Punjab State Sports Council will support them with money each month for their whole life.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria?

Below mentioned points are necessary to qualify for this scheme

Played on Indian teams at the Olympics, World Cups, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, tennis Davis Cup, or cricket tests/one day.
Be at least 40 years old.
Come from Punjab, even if they didn't play for Punjab's team at the National Games before the big international competitions.

How To Apply For The Punjab Scheme Of Pension

To apply for this scheme first one needs to:-

Go to the District Sports Officer who is charged with the responsibility of the District Sports Councils.
Obtain the application form free of charge at this place.

Fill it out with all details.
In copy, Submit the form and required documents to the District Sports Officer.

The District Sports Officer shall verify the application and the documents as presented. If everything is well, they will forward the application to the honorary Secretary / Chairman, Punjab-State-Sports-Council for completing the formalities and sanctioning the monthly money.
