What Is The One Family One Job Scheme?

The One Family One Job Scheme was introduced to ensure that at least one person from a family secures stable employment and leads a healthy life. The government initiative aims to reduce the rates of unemployment in India and make people financially independent and stable.

Which States Run The One Family One Job Scheme?

Two states started this employment scheme. i.e. the state governments of Haryana and Sikkim. The details of each of the states are laid down below in detail for one’s reference:

1. Haryana’s One Family One Job Scheme

The state govt of Haryana launched the scheme in the year of 1992. Through the scheme, the state govt aimed to reduce the rate of unemployment in the state.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested individuals first need to ensure whether they fit into the eligibility criteria of the employment scheme or not. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Applicant must be a resident of the state of Haryana.

  • Applicant should be between the ages of 18-35 years (relaxations available for people from the SC/OBC communities).

  • All the family members should be unemployed.

  • Applicant shouldn’t be an income taxpayer.

Application Process

Applicants can apply for the employment scheme by following some simple steps. The steps are as follows:

Step 1: Please visit the Antyodaya-SARAL portal.

Step 2: Register using your Aadhaar number and other personal details.

Step 3: Upload the required supporting documents.

Step 4: Recheck your application, click on ‘submit’, and track its status through the website.

2. Sikkim’s One Family One Job Scheme

The state govt of Sikkim launched the scheme in the year 2019 intending to provide an opportunity to at least one member per family to secure employment. The job opportunities range from security guards, gardeners, clerks, hospital assistants, etc. To date, over 12,000 individuals have secured employment through the state govt scheme.

  • Only an unemployed member per family can apply for the scheme.

Application Process

Interested and eligible applicants can apply for the Sarkari Yojana through online methods at their convenience. The procedure is as follows:

Step 1: Please visit the state government employment portal.

Step 2: Navigate to the name of the scheme and fill in the application form.

Step 3: Upload the required supporting documents like an Aadhaar card, income certificate, and unemployment status verification.

Step 4: Recheck your application, click on ‘submit’, and wait for the approval.
