Skill Development of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) program seeks to build the capacity of the PwD communities through training geared toward making them self-reliant and contributing members of society. This is one of the initiatives launched by the government in response to the economic challenges and marginalisation that those living with a disability encounter. Along these lines, the government has prepared a National Action Plan for Skill Development of Persons with Disabilities, which includes both e-learning as well as regular classes.
These government programs are intended to equip the PWDs with relevant occupational skills, improving their chances of getting decent jobs and better employment opportunities. The initiative further aims at meeting the need for good rehabilitation services which will address the disabled people more effectively.
