What Is The PM Surya Ghar Yojana?
The government of India started the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana to promote the installation of solar roof panels in households. This would help reduce the pressure on other resources for generating electricity and also be a sustainable means of electricity production and consumption.
The government offers subsidies for the installation of rooftop solar panels under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme.

What Did KPDCL Recently Say About Subsidies Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana?
The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) recently issued advisory guidelines for those seeking to get subsidies under the PMSGY scheme for the installation of rooftop solar panels. KPDCL advised that solar PV vendors who are empanelled should only be approached for the installation of solar panels.
The authority said that no subsidy will be provided to non-empanelled vendors under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. A spokesperson from KPDCL said that many consumers are being approached by non-registered vendors for installing solar rooftops.

How To Find A List Of Empanelled Vendors?
For the convenience of consumers, the empanelled list of vendors is available on the National Portal of PM Surya Ghar Yojana along with the contact details.
The spokesperson also said that this is in the public interest, as those getting solar rooftops from unregistered vendors will not receive any subsidies under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. You can find the empanelled vendors list here.
