IRCTC Announces 19 Trains That Require No Reservation!

However, recently the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has announced a major change in the reservation policy of trains. This new update would impact the lives of passengers to a greater extent.

What Is The New IRCTC Announcement?

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has announced that from December 10, 2024, passengers will not be required to make prior reservations on some trains. This will help people access the services offered by the Indian railways, especially in emergencies.

5. Discounts

Passengers would be given a range of discounts as well based on some pre-determined categories such as:

For students: 25% discount
For senior citizens: 50% discount
Initial month: Passengers travelling in the first month. i.e. December would be provided with a 10% cashback.
Group booking: If individuals are booking for a large group, they’ll be entitled to some discounts (varying prices).
Loyalty program: IRCTC would begin a loyalty program as well for regular travellers.
