It is crucial to recognise the value sports bring into our lives and treat it at par with every other thing and the Haryana government didn’t only recognise the importance of sports but also contributed to the growth of athletes by introducing the Haryana Provision of Sports Equipment Scheme. This state government scheme was taken by the Haryana government to create a warm and supportive environment for the athletes and to encourage the youth to pursue their passion if it’s being a sportsman.

The Haryana Provision of Sports Equipment Scheme is designed to deliver a high-quality and sufficient quantity of sports equipment to athletes so that they can practise consistently without having to worry about the necessary equipment. One of the main reasons behind athletes not receiving proper training is the unavailability of resources. The govt scheme aims to tackle this issue by ensuring an adequate supply of equipment to make them reach prestigious national and international platforms.

One of the objectives of the government scheme is also to encourage youth to participate in their preferred sports to foster physical fitness, teamwork, good mental health, and discipline allowing them to have an impactful future. Eligibility For Availing Of The Scheme

To avail of the benefits of the Haryana Provision of Sports Equipment Scheme:

The applicant should be from a municipal body or gram panchayat of Haryana.
The Field of Play (FOP) shall be available in the town or village for the game they are expected to play.

Application Process

The application process is straightforward:

Applicants are supposed to take print of the prescribed application form.
The application form should be filled out accurately along with the latest photographs of the Field of Play (FOP) with the date and location on the photograph attached to it.
The application form along with the necessary documents are to be submitted to the District Sports Officer.
After the successful submission of the application form, the District Sports Officer gives a receipt or acknowledgement of the same.

It is to be noted that if it’s a municipal body, the application is to be submitted by the concerned ward member or counsellor, and if it’s a Gram Panchayat, the Sarpanch or Gram Sachiv of the village can apply

List Of Equipment Provided Under The Govt Scheme

Under the Haryana Provision of Sports Equipment Scheme, the government provides a range of equipment related to various sports such as

Volleyball: 06 balls and a net are provided if poles are already installed.
Football: 06 balls and a net are provided if poles are already installed.
Basketball: 06 balls are provided if poles are already installed.
Handball: 06 balls and a net are provided if poles are already installed.
Boxing: 06 punching bags and 12 pairs of gloves are provided.
Wrestling: 18 mats along with covers are provided of appropriate dimensions.
Judo: 18 mats along with covers are provided of appropriate dimensions.
Cricket: A cricket kit is provided comprising 02 bats, 02 sets of wickets with stumps, 06 balls, 02 pairs of batting pads and gloves, and a pair of wicket-keeping pads and gloves.
