Gargi Puruskar Yojana is a girl’s education incentive scheme introduced by the Government of Rajasthan. The government program was introduced to felicitate young girls who score above a certain percentage in their 10th and 12th boards. Girls who are awarded this grant must be admitted to the school for classes 11th and 12th and will receive their scholarship amount through a cheque, therefore, the girl should also have a bank account.

• Monetary Reward: Girl students who have scored above 75% in class 10th are given ₹3000. Girls who score above 75% in class 12th are then awarded ₹5000 from the government.

• Upliftment of Girls: The government of Rajasthan aims to raise its literacy rate amongst women, which is currently at 57.6% against the state's overall literacy rate of 69.7%. This program offers financial incentives to those girls and families who choose to pursue higher education.

• Impact on Economy: By raising the literacy levels of the women in Rajasthan, this program aims to positively impact the economy of the state too, as the more productive and highly skilled labour is available in the state, the better off they'll be.

• Increasing Independence: This program mandates that the money goes into a bank account that is being held by the girl, thereby providing her some financial leverage to rise in life.

Gargi Puruskar Scheme Application Process

Applying for the Gargi Puruskar Yojana is very easy, as it is very accessible and only requires a few simple steps on the part of the applicant. The process is available both online and offline. They are:

Online:

Step 1: Apply for the scholarship online via the Shaladarpan Portal applied by the school principal.

Step 2: Either click "Balika Shiksha Protsahan" or click here.

Step 3: After choosing a scheme, click the "Apply" button. Choose the scheme name now. Complete the necessary fields and proceed.

Offline:

Step 1: Locate a Common Service Centre (CSC) near you and ask for the required forms and documents.

Step 2: Carefully fill out the application forms, filling in all required details.
