First Instalment Of Delhi Women 2500 Rupees Scheme To Be Released Soon

India has come a long long way in improving the conditions for women. The central and state governments have established several social welfare measures for women to empower them in different areas of life.

One such measure was taken by the state govt of Delhi in the form of a Sarkari Yojana called the Delhi Women 2500 Rupees Scheme also known as the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. After the state elections, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won in the state after 26 years. One of the promises made by the BJP before the elections was to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2500 to women with the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.

Eligibility Criteria Of The Delhi Women 2500 Rupees Scheme

Interested individuals first need to ensure whether they fit into the eligibility criteria or not. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

• Applicants should be women residing in Delhi for a minimum period of 10 years.

• The annual income of the applicant shouldn’t be more than Rs. 2.5 lakh.

• Applicant shouldn’t own a four-wheeler vehicle.

• Applicant shouldn’t be a government employee.

Other Such Schemes By BJP

Bharatiya Janta Party has launched several social welfare schemes for women not just in Delhi but in other states as well. Some of those major schemes are:

• Ladki Bahin Scheme: The Ladki Bahin Scheme is a government scheme for women, announced within the state budget of Maharashtra, which aims to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs.1500 to widowed, divorced, or economically unfortunate women between the ages of 21 and 60.

• Swadhar Greh Initiative: The Swadhar Greh Initiative aims to provide women going through difficulties in life institutional support so they can reform their lives to live with honour and peace. This scheme provides necessary aid in the form of shelter, food, clothing, and health along with socio-economic security as well.
