If no party or coalition secures a majority in the Lok Sabha Elections, a hung parliament situation arises. In this case, the President intervenes to help form a government. Here's what happens if no party wins a majority:
The president may invite the leader of the largest party to form the government. The leader of the largest party will be given around 10 days to form alliances with other parties to secure a majority.
Political parties can negotiate and form coalitions to secure the required number of seats. Parties that did not contest together can form alliances after the election to collectively achieve a majority. This often involves negotiating and sharing power to ensure a stable government.

When a party or a coalition fails to secure a majority, it can seek external support from other parties. However, the other parties will not be included in the government. They agree to only back the government with votes. External support is quite unstable, as the other parties may back down at any time, which may leave the government to lose its majority.
If a party or a coalition fails to get a majority to form a government, it takes the help of supporting parties. They will not formally join to form the government, but the government may agree to support it on key issues. The minority government is quite unstable and fragile, as the supporting parties can withdraw at any time.
If no party or coalition can secure a majority in the Lok Sabha, the president may call for re-elections. The entire election process is repeated in hopes of getting a majority. Re-elections are kept as a last resort after all the other options to form a government have been tried.
