Top 5 Student Schemes In India

1. Central Sector Scheme Of Scholarships For College & University Students

The Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College & University Students is a government scheme launched to help meritorious students from the economically weaker sections of society. Selected students under the scheme are provided with monetary support so that they can pursue education without any financial burden.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must’ve an exceptional academic record.
  • Annual income shouldn’t be more than Rs. 4.5 lakhs p.a.

Application Process

  • Interested and eligible students can apply by visiting the NSP portal.
  • Register in the portal, find the name of the scheme, and apply.

2. PM Scholarship Schemes (PMSS)

The PM Scholarship Schemes (PMSS) were introduced by the Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare under the Ministry of Defence. This Sarkari Yojana is especially for the children and widows of ex-servicemen/ex-coastguards. Every year, around 5500 (2750 boys and 2750 girls) are selected for the scholarship scheme, wherein they are entitled to receive monthly financial aid worth Rs. 2500 for boys and Rs. 3000 for girls.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant should be a dependent of an ex-serviceman/ex-coastguardsman.
  • Student should be in their 1st year of college or university.
  • The student should have scored a minimum of 60% marks.

  • Fill in the form, attach the supporting documents, and apply.

3. PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is a government scheme introduced to provide free skill training to young people, helping them improve their job opportunities. The govt scheme offers training in various fields, such as construction, retail, and healthcare, to equip individuals with the necessary skills for employment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants should be between the ages of 15-45 years.
  • Unemployed people or dropouts can also apply for the Sarkari Yojana.

Selected students are eligible to receive monetary support, which varies as on the chosen courses.

  • Applicants should be from the UTs of J&K or Ladakh.
  • Annual income shouldn’t be more than Rs. 8 lakhs p.a.

5. PM YASASVI Scheme

This Sarkari Yojana guarantees that those who qualify get the chance to continue with their education without paying the tuition fees. The primary objective of the PM Yashasvi Scholarship Scheme is to offer scholarships to children belonging to OBC, DNT & EBC communities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants should have passed the 10th standard.
  • The family’s annual income shouldn’t be more than Rs. 2.5 lakhs p.a.
