Aimed specifically at construction workers, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has started the Shauchalaya Sahayata Yojana to enhance the sanitation conditions for construction workers. It was launched as part of the Swachh Bharat mission. The government scheme offers financial help to registered construction labourers to make toilets at their homes to avoid open defecation. About

The Shauchalaya Sahayata Yojana was required to provide money to all construction workers including the ones who are registered in the Construction Workers Welfare Fund, the Government of Uttar Pradesh's primary funded program in 2017. This govt scheme is positioned towards helping the registered construction workers who do not have toilets in their households, and, therefore, helps in reaching the objective of the state having an open defecation-free society.   • Step 1: The District Panchayat Raj Officer provides a list of registered construction workers.

Documents Requirement

  • The family does not have a permanent home.

Application Status Check

The Shauchalaya Sahayata Yojana should be issued to an eligible person applicant who will be responsible for tracking the application and follow-up to avoid delay in the processing. The government however has provided several means of checking the application status of prospective applicants and this in turn makes the process clear and keeps everybody informed during the entire process.

  • To check the status of your application, contact the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO).

  • The status can also be followed through local authorities responsible for the scheme.

Post-Application Procedure

Once the application is submitted for consideration, a list of applicants eligible for consideration will be compiled. An officer from the corporation will carry out a house check of the home. After the approval, the loan or grant is given out in two parts the first tranche of six thousand rupees (6,000) is paid upon approval and six thousand (6,000) upon finishing of the construction.
