Paryatan Siksha Yojana: Strengthening The Tourism Industry With Education!

Tourism is one of the most integral pillars of a country’s development and growth as it allows people from different parts and cultures of the world to travel and learn and observe other cultures’ traditions and values. The GOI is also curating various govt schemes and policies to promote Indian tourism.

The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has curated and launched the Paryatan Siksha Yojana (पर्यटन शिक्षा योजना) also known as the Tourism Education Scheme to promote the tourism industry and foster the necessary skills needed in this particular sector to develop it further. The state of Arunachal Pradesh is nothing but serene and carries the potential to attract more tourists than at present and the scheme aims to use the talents of the youth for the same.

Features Of The Paryatan Siksha Yojana (पर्यटन शिक्षा योजना)

Some of the key features of the Paryatan Siksha Yojana are:

• Tailored Curriculum: The courses designed under the Sarkari Yojana cover a wide range of the domains of tourism such as:

1. Diploma in food production

2. Diploma in food & beverage service – front office

3. Diploma in housekeeping

4. Diploma in bakery & confectionery

5. Hospitality management

6. Tour-guiding

7. Eco-tourism

8. Cultural tourism

9. Adventure tourism

10. Sustainable tourism practices, and others.

• Skill Development: The govt scheme focuses on providing hands-on training experiences and practical exposure through field visits, internships, workshops, etc. to the students who aspire to become a part of the tourism industry.

• Chief Minister’s Tourism Scholarship: The government has also launched the Chief Minister’s Tourism Scholarship awarded to meritorious students as a reward for their hard work and also to encourage other students to pursue studies in this sector without any worries. The scholarship covers tuition fees, study material, and other related expenses.

Application Process For Availing Of The Paryatan Siksha Yojana (पर्यटन शिक्षा योजना)

The application process for the Paryatan Siksha Yojana is laid out below:

• The eligible applicants need to visit the nearest District Tourism Office.

• The applicant needs to fill out the application form and submit the relevant documents such as identity proof, mark sheets of class 10th and 12th, ST certificate, and other such documents.

• Submit the application form and the relevant documents to the Directorate of Tourism of Arunachal Pradesh.

• The selected applicants will be called for an interview.
