What Are The Two New Pilgrimage Schemes?

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, introduced two new pilgrimage schemes. Both schemes are mentioned below in detail for one’s better understanding and reference:

1. Bauddha Teerth Darshan Yojana

One of the two newly launched pilgrimage schemes is called the Bauddha Teerth Darshan Yojana. This government scheme has been launched especially for the residents of Uttar Pradesh who follow the Hindu/Buddhist culture and wish to visit the sacred Buddhist-related pilgrimage sites. Under the scheme, financial aid will be provided so that people can travel easily without any extra financial burden. CM also announced that under the Bauddha Teerth Darshan Yojana, monks will be given priority during the selection of beneficiaries for the scheme.

2. Panch Takht Yatra Scheme

Another new pilgrimage scheme is called the Panch Takht Yatra Scheme, which is designed specifically for the Sikh devotees. As per this state government scheme, Sikh residents of Uttar Pradesh will be allowed to travel to 5 sacred Takht Sahib pilgrimage sites. i.e., Shri Anandpur Sahib situated in Punjab, Shri Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar, Shri Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo, Shri Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib at Nanded, Maharashtra, and Shri Harmandar Ji Sahib located in Patna Sahib, Bihar.

Benefits Of The Two New Pilgrimage Schemes

Both the Bauddha Teerth Darshan Yojana and the Panch Takht Yatra Scheme have some additional benefits as well, such as:

  • Every traveller under the scheme will be provided with financial aid worth Rs. 10,000.

  • The CM of Uttar Pradesh has specifically asked the authorities to run the schemes through online platforms to make all aspects of travel smooth, efficient, and error-free. The application process for both schemes would work in partnership with nationalised applications like IRCTC.

Conclusion

The CM of Uttar Pradesh launched two new pilgrimage schemes called the Bauddha Teerth Darshan Yojana and the Panch Takht Yatra Scheme, especially for Buddhist & Sikh devotees. The ultimate aim of both schemes is to make pilgrimage travel convenient and financially relieving for both Hindus/Buddhists, and Sikhs. The state govt has an exclusive focus on establishing protective security measures so that every traveller can be safe and sound during their sacred trip to pilgrimage sites.
