The Mukhyamantri Bal Ashirwad Yojana is a state government scheme launched by the state government of Maharashtra for improving the lives of orphaned children and young adults living with relatives or childcare institutions. Under this scheme, eligible children are entitled to receive monthly financial assistance, which varies by amount as per the age of the child.
The list of objectives of the Mukhyamantri Bal Ashirwad Yojana Maharashtra is extremely comprehensive. Some of its key objectives are laid down below:
The scheme provides financial support to children so that they can lead healthy and fulfilled lives.
The Sarkari Yojana organises skill development programs so that children can engage within the community and learn skills.
The state government scheme also focuses on building children’s emotional development along with their academics.
The benefits of the scheme can be divided into two broad categories based on the kinds of assistance it offers for the children. Both of those categories are:
Internships: For a year wherein Rs. 5000 will be paid monthly.
Vocational training: Training in government institutions like Polytechnic Diploma, IT, Pharmaceutical courses, Nursing, Hotel Management, Tourism, PM Skill Development, etc. for a maximum period of 2 years, along with a monthly financial support worth Rs. 5000.
Education: If any student has cleared competitive exams like NEET, JEE, or CLAT and taken admission in educational institutions, they’ll be entitled to monthly monetary aid ranging from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 8000.
Economic: Children below the age of 18 years living with relatives or guardians are eligible to receive Rs. 4000 monthly for a minimum period of a year. The duration is extendable based on the economic condition of the child or the family; however, after the child turns 18, no assistance will be provided.
Medical: All the children will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Eligibility for the state government scheme differs as per the categories of benefits. The eligibility criteria are mentioned below for one’s better understanding:
The child should be living in a childcare institution for at least 5 years.
If the child is orphaned or abandoned, the requirement of staying in a childcare institution is not mandatory.
The benefits of aftercare and sponsorship will be given till the child attains 24 years of age.
The child should be above 18 years old.
The child’s parents should be deceased and living with their relatives or guardian.
The relative/guardian shouldn’t come under the eligibility of Mukhyamantri COVID-19 Bal Seva Yojana.
The application process for the Mukhyamantri Bal Ashirwad Yojana Maharashtra has been written below in a step-wise format.
Step 1: The manager of the childcare institution is required to identify children who are 18 years old and make an individual care plan for each of them.
Step 2: A list of children on internships is to be prepared.
Step 3: The case files will be reviewed by a committee, and the process shall be completed before a year at least.
Step 1: The District Program Officer/District Child Protection Officer of the Department of Women and Child Development is responsible for identifying families with such children.
Step 2: The Home Study Report of every child should be registered through the portal of the scheme, along with a Social Investigation Report made by the District Program Officer.
Step 3: After checking both the reports, a list of children is to be prepared and sent to the Child Welfare Committee.
Step 4: The Child Welfare Committee then declares the name of children in need of care and protection as per the Juvenile Justice Act and Rules.
Step 5: Every year, the committee is required to check on the children to decide upon the continuity or termination of the scheme.
