What Is Post Harvest Marketing Scheme?

The Post Harvest Marketing Scheme in India was introduced by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare in Meghalaya. The state government scheme helps farmers by creating better facilities to market their produce after harvesting. It also gives support to farmers' groups, clubs, cooperatives, etc. They can get assistance to buy vehicles like pick-up trucks, mini trucks, or Tata mobiles. These vehicles are used to transport farm products from the field to the market, making it easier for farmers to sell their crops.

Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria have to be met by farmers who want to apply for the post-harvest marketing scheme in India.

  • Must be a permanent resident of Meghalaya.

  • Should be a genuine farmer involved in agriculture.

  • Must own or lease at least 0.2 hectares of land or more.

Application Process

Farmers who meet the eligibility criteria can follow these steps to apply for the state government scheme. Let us have a look at these steps for an easy and convenient process.

Step 1: Write the application letter on an A4 sheet.

Step 2: Write all the necessary details.

Step 3: Attach the required documents.

Step 4: Submit the signed application and documents to the nearest Horticulture Development Officer's office in a CD Block or Horticulture Circle.

Please note that farmers shall be selected on a first come first serve basis.
