What Is The AICTE YASHASVI?

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) created and introduced the AICTE YASHASVI (Young Achievers’ Scholarship and Holistic Academic Skills Venture Initiative) Scheme. It is a scholarship scheme that has been curated for students from backward communities interested in pursuing a UG or diploma in the core branches of engineering. i.e., Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Electronic, and Mechanical from an AICTE-approved technical institution.

Number Of YASHASVI Scholarships 2025

AICTE provides a total of 5000 YASHASVI Scholarships, out of which 2500 are for degree courses and 2500 for diploma courses for students pursuing a UG or diploma course in the core branches of engineering.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria Of AICTE YASHASVI?

Interested applicants first need to ensure whether they fit into the eligibility criteria of the scholarship scheme for the successful AICTE YASHASVI scholarship apply online. The AICTE YASHASVI eligibility is as follows:

• Applicant must be admitted in the 1st year or second year through lateral entry of a degree/diploma course in any AICTE-approved institute.

• The annual income of the applicant’s family should not be more than Rs. 8 lakh p.a.

• If an applicant has taken a gap year, the duration of the same shouldn’t exceed 2 years.

What Are The Documents Needed For AICTE YASHASVI Scholarship Apply Online?

Eligible individuals need to submit some supporting documents while applying for the YASHASVI Scholarship 2025. The list of those documents is as follows:

• Aadhaar card

• Income certificate

• Admission letter

• Bank account details

Methods Of Resolving Ties

In instances of ties where the students' percentiles are the same, AICTE has established a method for resolving ties. The method is written below in brief:

• If two students end up scoring the same percentile in the qualifying examination, their 12th (degree) or 10th (diploma) standard marks will be considered to break the tie.

• If in case, the marks of 12th or 10th are also the same, their age will become the deciding factor, and the eldest out of the two will be selected.

Terms & Conditions Of YASHASVI Scholarship 2025

There are some terms & conditions of this scholarship scheme by AICTE that one needs to follow:

• Interested students can only apply for the scheme once a year through the NSP portal.

• If a student is from a reserved category but has qualified the exam as per the General category merit list will be considered under the General category.

• Please ensure that your application is complete and information is filled with accurate details.

• If a selected student drops out in the following year of the course, they will automatically become ineligible for the scheme.

• As the YASHASVI scholarship is primarily for the core branches of engineering, if a selected student shifts to other non-core branches of engineering, their scholarship will be discontinued, and they will be required to refund the entire amount to AICTE.

• Applicants should not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship schemes provided by the educational institute or the government.
