MEITY Internship: Eligibility, Application Process, and Documents Required

An internship is a short-term role provided by an organisation focused on giving students or recent graduates experience in a particular field. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has started a new internship scheme called the ‘Digital India Internship Scheme’. It will help students gain practical experience in the field of information technology and electronics.

About The MeitY Internship 2024

MeitY Internship 2024 is offered in New Delhi. There are a total of 24 slots available, in 18 different types of areas. Both virtual and physical modes is available for the internship, but it is decided by the supervisor or the mentor. The duration of the internship is a minimum of 2 months, which can be extended to 3 months, and the last date to apply for the MeitY internship was May 21, 2024.

The internship offers a token stipend of Rs 10,000 per month but is subject to satisfactory performance. The interns will also get certificates issued by the Ministry once the internship is completed.

Eligibility Criteria For MeitY Internship 2024

Indian students from recognised universities who have achieved at least 60% in their most recent degree or certification and are pursuing the following qualifications are eligible to apply for meity internship 2024.

How To Apply For The MeitY Internship 2024?

Follow the instructions given below to register yourself for the MeitY internship.

Interested and eligible students may visit the official MEITY website.
Click on the option “MeitY Digital India Internship Scheme.”.
Click on the “Apply for Internship“ option.
Applicants need to register at https://serviceonline.gov.in/ to apply for this scheme.
After successful registration, the applicant will log in using his or her credentials.
After logging in, select View all available services under the Apply for service option.
Search for “MEITY DIGITAL INDIA INTERNSHIP SCHEME 2024”.
Click on the service description link to open the application form.

Note: The submission of applications for the MeitY 2024 internship commenced from May 6 until May 21. Further, application submissions have been closed. If you missed out on the opportunity this year, be prepared to apply in 2025.

The Required Documents Are

A recommendation letter from the institution the applicant is enrolled in.
a letter stating the formula used for converting marks into CGPA percentages.
a passport-size photo.
a signature in digital format.

The applicants have to remember that the internship is neither an assured position nor an assurance of employment with the Ministry. Students in the last semester of their degree who will pass out in summer 2024 will not be eligible. Having the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee a spot for the internship.
