Who Can Apply Under Mukhyamantri Baristha Bunakar and Karigara Sahayata Yojana?

The scheme is designed for the real weavers, ancillary workers, and handicraft makers from Odisha. The Bunakar welfare scheme eligibility criteria are explained below:

Residency Requirement

The applicants should be permanent residents or domiciles of Odisha. Proof of Residence could be requested as part of the application verification process.

Age Requirement For Beneficiaries

The age criteria for the male and female applicants in the scheme are different.

  • For Applicants, the minimum age is 40 years for females for the Scheme.

  • Male applicants must be above 50 years of age to apply for financial assistance.

  • The Scheme offers more financial assistance to applicants aged 80 years and above.

Inclusion in the Official Survey List

Applicant's name should be included in the list of finalised weavers, ancillary workers or handicraft artisans prepared by the Government. Additionally, some award-winning craftsmen may also be qualified, whose names are not on the list, such as:-

  • National Awardees, State Awardees, Kalakruti Awardees, and Tantakruti Awardees may be considered eligible (Under Verification).

  • District-level officials may perform further verification for applicants who are not part of the Survey list.

Income Limit

The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹1,00,000 per year. To apply, you must have a valid income certificate from:

  • Tahasildar.

  • Additional Tahasildar.

  • Other Competent Revenue Authority.

One Beneficiary Per Family Rule

Assistance is available only for one of the members of a family, irrespective of the number of family members present, who can also qualify for the scheme.

Who Is Not Eligible Under The Scheme?

The following individuals who are ot eligible under this government scheme are as follows:-

  • A government employee and any retired government employee are ineligible to receive benefits under the Scheme.

  • Income Tax Payers cannot apply for financial assistance under this welfare programme.

  • The applicants currently receiving such benefits under another pension or welfare scheme are not eligible.

  • Beneficiaries convicted in criminal cases may be disqualified from receiving assistance.

  • If someone provides misleading information when they verify, they could have their benefits cancelled.

Circumstances Under Which Assistance Can Be Cancelled

The following circumstances will also lead to the termination of assistance:

  • Assistance will be terminated upon the death of the person or persons assisted.

  • If any information provided in the application verification is determined to be false or misleading, benefits may be cancelled.

  • The assistance can be rejected when the target person turns unqualified as per the criteria set by the scheme guidelines.

What Is The Application Process For Mukhyamantri Baristha Bunakar and Karigara Sahayata Yojana

The application process for Odisha handicraft worker assistance is as follows. Read the steps below:-

Step 1: First, collect the application form issued by the department or the authority responsible for implementing the scheme (Annexure-I)

Step 2: Carefully fill all required fields in the form, like personal information, work details, income data, and bank account details. Also, make sure the numbers are accurate

Step 3: Then attach all necessary supporting papers, such as Aadhaar Card, income certificate, bank passbook copy, photograph and other required certificates, whatever they ask for

Step 4: Submit the completed form along with related documents to the Director of Textiles and Handlooms or Handicrafts.

Step 5: After that, the relevant authorities will check the submitted documents, eligibility data and the survey reports before doing anything further

Step 6: Once verification is done, all eligible applicants are placed before the District Level Selection Committee for approval, then final selection.

Step 7: After approval, the financial assistance money is credited directly into the beneficiary bank account that is Aadhaar-seeded, via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) System.

Who has given Beneficiaries Financial Assistance?

The financial assistance is transferred straightaway into the Aadhaar-linked savings bank account of the beneficiary through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system by the Government. Applicants need to ensure that:

  • The Bank Account is opened in the Applicant's Name Only.

  • The Aadhaar-linked bank account is for smooth DBT transactions.

  • Core Banking Services are served by the Bank Branch.

  • If the details of the IFSC Code and Account are entered correctly while filling out the application.
