The Additional Deputy Commissioner, P. Shivaraj, informed the public that those who will be getting married under the scheme will be given gold ornaments as well, such as a Mangal Sutra and two gold beads weighing around 8 grams.

Can One Still Register For The Marriage Scheme?

Yes, you can still register for the Mangalya Bhagya Scheme, but please make a note that the registrations are only open till the 15th of May, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested couples first have to fulfil the eligibility criteria to avail the benefits of the marriage scheme. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

The groom should be at least 21 years old, and the bride should be at least 18 years old.
Parents of both the bride and groom must consent to the marriage and be present on the wedding day.

Things To Note About The Mangalya Bhagya Scheme

There are some special points that one should note while applying for the state govt scheme. All those points are written below in brief points for one’s better understanding:

In case of inter-caste marriages, a certified caste certificate is to be submitted.
The groom is mandated to bring at least one witness.
If the parents of either the bride or the groom are deceased, the death certificates of the parents are required to be submitted to the concerned authorities.
Second marriages are not entertained under this marriage scheme.
