Funding & Monitoring Of The SVAMITVA Scheme

The Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas scheme comes under the central government of India and hence, is completely funded by them. The govt released around 79 crore for the pilot study of the scheme, and additional funds were released later. The govt scheme works in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and local rural administrative offices.

Legal Aspects Of The SVAMITVA Scheme

The Sarkari Yojana works under the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and as per the provisions laid down in the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996. The scheme also receives support from various state-specific laws, such as the Rajasthan Panchayati Act of 1994, and the Madhya Pradesh Panchayati Raj Avam Gram Swaraj Adhiniyam of 1993.

• Unreachable areas: Some villages are situated in highly remote areas, which makes it difficult for the drones to work properly.

• Improper infrastructure: As infrastructure development is an ongoing process, there are still many areas with a lack of basic infrastructure like roads, electricity, etc., which is a major problem for the scheme.

• Family disputes: Because of years of absence of legal recognition of lands, there are family disputes that first need to be resolved to provide legal recognition to the right person, which slows down the working of the scheme.
