The PMSS RPF Scholarship Scheme is a government programme launched to provide financial aid to the wards of RPF and RPSF personnel, including widows. Under this scheme, scholarships are offered for professional courses such as engineering, medical, management, and other technical fields. The aim is to reduce financial stress on families while ensuring children of RPF and RPSF personnel get equal opportunities for quality education.

Scholarships that include financial requirements for an academic programme take 2 to 5 years, depending on the course.
The scholarship is tenable for professional degree courses, including BE, B.Tech, MBBS, BDS, B.Ed., BBA, BCA, MCA, B. Pharma and other technical degrees recognised by the Government. Only MBA and MCA are allowed for Master’s degree holders.

Eligible students must be children or dependents of RPF personnel who are serving or retired, and they should have secured admission to a recognised institution for higher education.
Wards/ Widows of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel below the rank of gazetted officer.
Relevant professional courses for admission with normal scholastic admission procedures.
QE Minimum 60 Marks MEQ ( XII/Diploma/ Graduate).
Restricted to two wards each for a family.
Non-affiliated institutes must be registered under AISHE regulations.
It also does not apply to any distance learning course or study abroad programme.
Eligibility for the scholarship depends on academic performance in the Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ). The following table explains the marks criteria required for applicants to qualify for this support.

The Sarkari scheme gives preference to students pursuing professional courses, followed by those in technical education, with priority based on academic performance and financial need.
Wards/widows of the ex-RPF/RPSF personnel died in harness due to an encounter or while performing duty in elections, etc.
Wards/widows of former RPF/RPSF officers who died in action/duty.
Widowed/ divorced/ deserted spouses and wards dependent on them are Wards of retired RPF/ RPSF personnel.
Children of RPF/RPSF personnel serving during the period.

Students can apply for the scheme by filling out the application form available on the official website, providing the necessary details such as personal and educational information.
Step 1: Go to the National Scholarship Portal, and then select the category-wise option, Central Schemes of the Railway Ministry.
Step 2: The new user must first apply for a student registration ID.
Step 3: Just register on the site and then complete the application form.
Step 4: Also register the application, accompanied by relevant documents as and when required.
Step 5: Receive a system-automatically generated registration number for future use.
After submission, applications are verified by the concerned authorities, and selected candidates are notified about the scholarship award and disbursement process.
Applications are sent to the Zonal Railways for verification.
The scholarships are disbursed through Direct Bank Transfer directly to the bank account of the applicant.
The lists are, in turn, handed over to the PMO for their approval.

The required documents include proof of admission to an educational institution, the RPF personnel’s service details, a valid identity proof, and the academic records of the student.
