Expansion Of Delhi Metro

Metro is one of those modes of transportation that helps people reach one part of the city from the other in as much less time as possible. It isn’t only quick but disciplined compared to other modes of local transportation, especially in metropolitan cities like Delhi.

Hence, the Union cabinet has approved the metro rail project in the Delhi NCR region. This would be the 4th phase of the Delhi Metro rail project wherein the focus would be given to building the Rithala-Kundli corridor which is around 26.46 km long. The Rithala-Kundli corridor would allow people to travel from parts of Delhi like Narela, Bawana, and Rohini to parts of Haryana in as much less time as possible. The newly built line would cover around 21 stations and aims to extend the present Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) in Ghaziabad, UP to Nathupur in Haryana as well.

A total of Rs 6,230 crore has been released for the Delhi Metro rail project and the whole work will be supervised by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC).
